A round neckline dress with raglan sleeves, designed with pintucks across the bodice and striped handblock-printed facing accents. Crafted from a 100% cotton-silk blend, the fabric features a collage pattern in handblock print, beautifully complemented by scattered multicolor floral embroidery.

Motifs inspired by the diverse floral elements of Amer were first translated into hand-drawn watercolor paintings. These designs were then meticulously adapted into hand-carved blocks, carefully considering the limitations of the medium. The play with negative-positive space, color separation, and outlining led to both singular motifs and intricate, multi-layered repeats. As many as 80 small and large wooden blocks were used to create pattern repeats for a single garment.
