Ekà, meaning ‘one’ in Sanskrit, finds charm in the familiar—pastoral pleasures, a lilting breeze or the warmth of a lifelong friend. This spirit takes shape in soulful clothing that lives on through individual expression, inspired by the poetic authenticity of places, people, and their stories.
Our designs are meant for celebrating the small, everyday luxuries with distinctive pieces made in fluid cuts and natural fabrics, and punctuated by thoughtful details. Each piece is designed to be seasonless and timeless, with an irreverence for boundaries of shape and age to offer clothing that is globally relevant.

Our Process is Informed by Textile Knowhow and Design Curiosity
The essence of Ekà stems from our design practice and the philosophy it is rooted infunctional, timeless, and conscious clothing made in India with the indigenous skills of India’s regional craft belts.
From the artisans across the country to the in-studio Ekà team, the transition from an idea to an Ekà piece takes place in a multifaceted process involving a deep dive in our textile archives, handblock printing and developing motifs unique to our design vocabulary. The final product is but a culmination of years of craft wisdom and technical prowess that our team—in-studio and across the country—brings on board
We pride ourselves in being scholars of textiles, and we weave and design ours from all parts of the country. Some of our textiles are also made on small scale automated jacquard looms which affords scale and renders optimal quality to techniques traditionally made by hand. Right from the yarn development and weaving stage to dyeing, block printing, finishing, quality control, packaging and shipping, every step is examined for the least wastage and reduced carbon footprint.
At Ekà, our design team is trained to incorporate fabrics usage backwards to ensure that most of the yarn and the fabric is used back as new resources with the help of design and technical knowhow. While plastic and polyester use is negligent in our studio and design process, we are also setting new goals for ourselves as we aim to be a completely green facility by both reducing as well as offsetting our carbon emissions.
